DR. YONG ZHAO
Keynote Speaker
Recognized as one of the most influential education scholars in the world, Dr. Yong Zhao is currently a Foundation Distinguished Professor in the School of Education at the University of Kansas and a professor in Educational Leadership at the Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne in Australia. He has published over 100 articles and nearly 40 books and has also worked with numerous schools to design new models of education within the existing school.

An influential curriculum designer and trainer, Zaretta Hammond works with schools on issues of equity, literacy, and culturally responsive instruction. A former teacher and college writing instructor, she is the author of the renowned book, Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain: Promoting Authentic Engagement and Rigor Among Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students, which positions culturally responsive teaching as a method for honing cognitive capacity in students and supporting independent learning and agency.
